Why We Offer Government Funding for PT Courses?
Our co-founder, Dave, is not just an experienced and practicing PT, but also an educator with a mission. He wanted to help people passionate about health & fitness access vocational courses. With health conditions like diabetes and obesity on the rise, the best thing he can do is help train more PTs so the population can have access to health and fitness advice. When you join our courses, you will become part of this movement!
What Are Government Funded PT Courses?
When people search for Government Funded PT courses, they’re usually looking for ways to train without having to pay large fees upfront. In most cases, this means using the Advanced Learner Loan, a government-backed student loan available for eligible qualifications. This type of course funding means you don’t have to pay anything upfront until you’re earning over £27,295 a year.
What Personal Trainer Courses Are Covered by Government Funding?
We, at Fitasylum, run 6 different and specialised courses, but not all of them are covered by student loans. If you’ve been exploring your options for PT course funding, here’s a breakdown of which of our courses are fully or partially covered.
Level 3 Gym Instructing and Personal Training
This is our level 2 and level 3 combined personal trainer course that is fully covered by Govt funding. It’s perfect for people with no previous qualifications in fitness, but with all the passion to get going!Level 3 Personal Training
This course is only partially funded by the government. This means the government will cover up to 72%, making the Level 3 PT course more affordable.

How Government Funded PT Course Repayments Work
Yes — you have to pay it back to Student Finance England, but only when you’re earning above £27,295 per year. Until then, you don’t pay a penny. It works in a similar way to a university student loan. Many of our students feel more confident choosing a personal trainer course with government funding, knowing they won’t start repaying anything until they’re earning over £27,295 per year.
